The East-West Center Bachelor Degree Scholarship (GDF) supports graduate students from the Pacific, Asia, and the United States for up to 24 months of Doctoral or Master’s degree study at the University of Hawai’i, where they may also directly participate in the Center’s academic, residential, and management capacity building programs. Coverage of Hawaii University Scholarships

The Hawaii University graduate scholarship programme covers the total cost of tuition and fees for graduate programmes offered by the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM), as well as the cost of books, housing in an East-West Center dormitory, and a portion of the cost of meals, health insurance, and other incidental expenses. A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0:

In most situations, a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 equals an A or its equivalent is required in the applicant’s most recent four semesters or six quarters of undergraduate work and in all post-baccalaureate coursework. It will be important to demonstrate language proficiency, and in order to do so, students will need to get the required TOEFL and IELTS scores.

Admissions-Eligible Majors at Hawaii University:

Among the most important fields of study are business, agriculture, journalism/mass communication, education, gender studies, environmental studies, NGO management, public administration, political science, STEM, public health (technologies, science, mathematics, engineering), and other relevant fields.

If a needed subject area is not among the criteria, the candidate should pay special attention to clarifying how the degree programme would contribute to the grant program’s goals. Specialist degree programmes, including architecture, law, and pharmacy, are ineligible for financial aid.

How Do I Apply for Admission to the University of Hawaii?

The winners of the scholarships are determined annually through a global competition. If you are not currently enrolled at UH Manoa as a classified graduate student, you must submit an application by the 1st of December to be considered for admission to the following fall semester.

The University of Hawaii will begin accepting applications through its online application procedure on August 1 of each year (Application link at end of article). To ensure prompt processing of your EWC application, you must submit all required papers for your UH enrollment office and departmental applications by January 10. Without the necessary materials, the application cannot be evaluated:

• A curriculum vitae (CV) or resume,
• Application Acknowledgment (a paper or screenshot of the confirmation you received from UH after submitting your enrollment request online to the university.
• Passport biodata part (for foreign applicants only),
• A formal copy of your academic records from each institution you’ve attended,
• If you are not a current University of Hawaii student and need to demonstrate your English ability, the testing service where you took the IELTS or TOEFL must report your score by January 10.
• Two letters should address your academic proficiency and career aspirations, while the third should focus on your time spent volunteering, participating in extracurricular activities, etc. As soon as you submit your online application, your referee will receive a link to the Letter of Reference form.

Result Announcement

By the 1st of April, the Center will inform applicants of its decision regarding their application. All candidates will receive an email with the outcome from the Center. The Center will not offer phone-based information on the findings.
